We have lift off!

So it turns out the 24 hours marker must have been how long it would take Jake to fly off. Some time after daddy left to get his haircut this morning Jake flew the coop. People had kept asking us if Noah would be sad when he was gone and we figured no as he knew it was coming and didn't seem to be paying him much attention on the porch. But, as luck would have it, Noah was the one to discover that Jake was gone and he started crying. But when daddy got back Jake was sitting on the roof so we got to go out and see him fly. Then all was ok - thank goodness. So we now have an empty cage. We are more than ready to go through the process again - especially since we know have a better chance of what to expect. This process was so amazing to observe. All we can say is, good job, God!!

Aw. That was such a cute video. I loved how he slapped the tree to get Jake to move.

He was 'petting' Jake.
