So at 9:00AM yesterday, this is what we saw...
And according to the butterfly website, he would stay that way for 24 hours so rather than check on him every hour, I thought I'd do it every few hours. Well, when daddy called at 11:45 to say he was headed home for lunch, he asked about Jake. We went to check on him, and this is what we saw...
Is he not the most beautiful butterfly you every saw? We took him outside and set him free.
I spent all afternoon with him encouraging him to leave. Several friends came by and tried to pick him up but he just stayed on his milkweed. But me thinks he just likes us too much as he is still sitting on our front porch. Or, maybe, he is in need of flying lessons. I will put Christopher and Noah on that duty this morning.
