Summer fun
While daddy and Grandpa Bud were finishing the ceiling fan in Noah's room and Benjamin was napping, Noah and mommy got a chance to go outside and play. We started with the bike.
Noah got it for his birthday and we haven't had it outside all that much. He has ridden it in the front room and mom thought this was the perfect chance to take it outside. We made a long stretch down the sidewalk with mom pushing the handle and Noah riding with his legs straight out sideways. He'd get really mad when we would ride in to the grass on either side of the sidewalk. I tried to explain how to steer the bike (because that was his job) and he'd do well for a bit, then forget again. Eventually we got back home and tried out the sidewalk chalk. Mostly it was just fun to open as many colors as were available but he did do some coloring. He also thought it was fun to suggest things for mom to draw.
I am going to have to work on my tractors, I think. He also did a fine job of scooting through the drawings.
This was actually a fun activity until we discovered the ants.
Lots and lots of ants running across the steps. This was way fun. We watched a loooong time. 'Want mommy to see, tooooo!' I was very impressed. Being really, really hot, we decided the sprinkler was next on the list. I tried the soaker hose which he had not seen before thinking he would think it fun to get wet the whole length of the hose. I should not be surprised that he came up with his own game.

All in all, it was a fun morning and I was glad to get to spend some one on one time with the big kid. I am just amazed at how grown up he is and thankful that he can find fun in every activity that comes his way.
