Valentine's Day party at school. Students are 'required' to bring Valentines for each student in the class. For this age, they just write their name on the back and pass them out to all the provided bags - including themselves. So, needless to say, they are all the same. No point in making something special for someone when you can't confirm they are going to get it, right? (Do you remember spending extra time matching up the sayings on your cards with your classmates? I so do...) Well, it came time to get Noah's Valentines ready. Surprisingly, he was very interested in helping assemble the cards. (I think he was more interested in the candy than the cards, but he did participate so I am not complaining.) He even wrote his name on the cards.

That is big stuff for a kid who HATES to sit and write ANYTHING!! Well, upon completing his cards, he looked all through the pile of very similar Spiderman cards, picked one out and declared, "This one is for Delaney." (She is a girl in his class.) And he made sure he kept track of that one keeping it separate from the others. I thought that was cute and when I dropped him off I told her grandparents that Noah was very intentional with Delaney's card. She started laughing and said Delaney had done the same thing. To Grandma, all her cards looked the same but upon completing them, she picked one out just for Noah. Isn't that sweet!??! I wonder if he is a true boy with a crush and follows her around pulling her hair and calling her names, you know, to let her know he's smitten. Knowing my son, I wouldn't put it past him. We, of course, are not promoting 'girlfriend' at the age of three. In fact, we haven't made mention of it at all. But, when we were preparing his birthday invitations, do you want to guess whose invite he checked on a good three times?
So, here is Noah working on his Valentine's AND with them all loaded up for school. (He insisted on wearing the bag on his arm "like a purse". I knew his daddy would want to see this picture.):

Here is his Valentine from Delaney:

(I'm going to put it in his keepsake box.)
And here is Benjamin.

He was so disappointed that he didn't have any Valentine's to make that we had to go out and get him some to take to his friends at music class. No surprise - he LOVED sitting at the table and putting them all together. His special Valentine was for his teacher, Miss Trilla.
And here are our Valentine's:
