Noah's Camera

I'd had my eyes on the children's cameras for months now. I thought it would be the perfect gift for an almost four-year-old to take to Disney. I wanted to see what Disney World looked like through the eyes of said child. I thought this would be the perfect way to do just that. It took me some time and effort but I finally convinced daddy it was a worthwhile purchase. Noah was actually with me when I bought the camera. He asked about it on occasion and daddy and I decided it best if we give it too him a little early so he could get used to using it before the big trip. This was good and this was bad.

Good: The first camera we bought was junk. The Fisher Price model. Brand new batteries lasted about 11 pictures. Our neighbor happened to be over and said they had had the same experience so we guessed it was the model, not just our camera. So, I took it back and got the v-Tech model for $10 more. Oh, but it was so going to be worth it, right?

Bad #1: First camera was waterproof - NOT the second. We didn't realize this until AFTER the incident. Somehow the camera had made its way in to the bathroom. We still are not clear what he was intending to photograph in there. We'll probably never know. All we DO now is that when daddy came downstairs Noah was drying off a dripping camera. Daddy asked what happened. Noah responded, "Well, the camera almost fell in the potty, but it didn't. So I had to wash it off." NOT waterproof, remember? Thought it was $60 down the toilet - LITERALLY. But daddy took it all apart and placed it in a cooling off oven overnight. Thankfully, it worked. Camera was functional again.

Bad #2: The joy of the camera was used up before we left home. He carried it with him for a good three days and took pictures of EVERYTHING. He had some of the best pictures of the back of the van seat, the drive between our house and Target, and a play by play of Benjamin drinking his juice at breakfast. 200 of them. I was GOING to download them to our computer. The next day. Unfortunately, that night was the night of the fateful toilet drop - or non-drop, if you will.

So, we didn't really get the photo journal of Disney that we were hoping for, but we did get these:He's asked for it on occasion and walks around taking random pictures. It's unfortunate that the photo editing elements are so easy to get to as we end up with a lot of these:(That's a very fancy picture of the hotel's carpet, in case you are wondering...)

So, stay tuned. Hopefully we will have a photo contest winner in the near future.
