Disney - Day Four

Due to parade schedules, we were back at the Magic Kingdom today. Not that that was a problem as we still had plenty of things to do there. We started at a section of the park we had not hit the day before and who should we run into first thing? Only the most talked about Disney characters of our entire year!!! Now, you would have thought a certain young man would have been excited beyond belief with this meeting, right? But, boy, did he play it like 'Cool hand Luke.' You would have thought he hung out with Captain Hook all the time! I think it is safe to say this was the highlight of Benjamin's day. (Or at least the best thing that happened to him that day - but more about that later.) Aside from meeting the boys' heroes we took a ride on Pirates of the Caribbean. Noah wasn't sure he wanted to give it a try. Pirates are cool and all, but standing in line in dark places was making him have second thoughts. After a few spooky moments with skeletons we got to the ships, cannons and "live" pirates. Turns out this was the best ride of the trip. Kind of ironic, from a parent's perspective, that we celebrate a pirate's life (for me!) considering what their life was really like. We met up with the rest of the family again for the afternoon. It had been a good morning and but it only went downhill from here. Benjamin tried to nap but just couldn't. He tried to eat but would only take a bite here and there. Hadn't really had anything all day. Not even grapes! He tried to squeak in a nap but just couldn't make it work in his stroller. We went back to Pooh's to play. This is how much fun he had... So, being the good (and ever vigilant) parents we are, we took him on the Tea Cups, making sure to giggle under our breath at the poor saps that had to come out and clean up the 'lucky' cups after each endless spin. From there we headed to the Merry Go Round. We were just about to get on when the carousel became that place where for the rest of his life he will now hear, "And right here is where you threw up all over yourself and your daddy." Poor kid, hunh? How can that even happen at the Happiest Place on Earth? But it did. (I bet those lousy pirates poisoned him at lunchtime.) A fever was soon to follow and the poor did ended up spending the rest of his day napping in the stroller. He even missed out on "Small World" which Grandma was disappointed about as he had liked it so much last year. That split our group back up as Benjamin's condition required some peace and quiet. Daddy and Noah did some repeat rides in Fantasyland, and Mommy did some shopping. We did all get to see the Electrolight Parade, though. And that was totally worth it. Even Benjamin was awake to enjoy it. Oh, and Noah tried his hand at hoola-hooping while we waited.
