Disney - Day One

(nothing like traveling lightly, right?? Now add in to this that we would have three small children, two strollers, and just Christopher and I to manage it all. What were we thinking??!!? But, we had all we needed - and then some. So I guess it was all good in the end.)

9:15AM – arrive @ airport for 11:15 flight to Orlando by way of Nashville. Are told that our first flight is delayed which will cause us to miss our connection. Good news – they got us on a non-stop; bad news – it isn’t until 1:15. So we settle in for a long stay at the airport.

10:45AM – hear announcement that our first plane is in fact on time and will be making an on-time departure for Nashville. We opt for that option instead of sitting in the KC airport all day. For some reason, they have to give us new boarding passes and we are now in the ‘B’ boarding group instead of the ‘A’s we originally had. (In case you didn’t know, Southwest is NOT the airline to fly with small children as they do not allow preboarding. Luckily we were able to find seats together for both flights but the stress is not worth it.)

3:45PM – arrive in Orlando and make our way to the resort.

5:30PM – arrive at resort, check in, ask about dinner. Are told that in order to make it to our dinner reservation on time (7:05PM), we should catch the shuttle bus in 15 minutes. (Note to self, next time, plan to eat at your own hotel the night you arrive…)

7:30PM – arrive at our dinner destination after the shuttle bus and water taxi and going to the wrong hotel at first. Have to wait a good half an hour for a table. Dinner was delicious! Cape May – highly recommend it.

9:00PM – finish dinner and attempt to get back to our rooms. Slight problem in that the way we came is no longer available. (Transferred buses at Hollywood Studios – they are closed now.) Try to go by way of Epcot but can’t find the bus stop. End up walking all the way back to the hotel we ate at and take a taxi. $10. Noah wants to know why we are riding in a pizza truck. (He’s never seen a taxi but pizza trucks have the same signs on top.)

11:00PM – back in room, bags unpacked, climbing in to bed. Hoping the rest of the week goes a little more smoothly.

Yeah, I'm not sure what we think when we plan things sometimes. I think it is my desire to make every second "count".

Steph, George and the boys just got back from a Disney cruise and I asked her where they slept from the one picture of the luggage. LOL

See ... if you were on Facebook you could see her photos :)
