Happy St. Patrick's Day, folks! I know I am not even a wee bit Irish, but I sure like to pretend I am. I just love this day - always have. It brings back fun memories of all my Ann Arbor homies, Conor's, Chicago, boxtys... the list goes on and on. Today was a simply gorgeous day in KC and we took full advantage of it. My friend Ingrid and I took Abby and Eric downtown to the big parade.
She's lived here 18 years and had never been and for some reason I just thought it sounded like fun. She works down in that area so she knew right where we should be and could get us all around. The parade was almost 2 hours long but the kids did great. Eric found some kettle corn early on, so he and Abby were good. I mostly wanted to see the Marching Cobras. They were at the end and had a "Clown Band" appreciation - it was really the only time I heard the crowd. (Except for the guy next to us who seemed to know someone in every single group that passed and screamed their name until he was acknowledged.) It was a little unfortunate that we were in a location where everyone was just in cadence as they passed. We didn't get to see any band dancing, Irish girls dancing, or hear bagpipes actually playing. That said, it was still a good parade and a super fun activity for our day. Followed it up with a nice long nap and then some yummy corned beef and cabbage. (Thank you, Cracker Barrel!)
And since two of my little leprechauns were not going to be in town today, we did our photo shoot early.
Aren't they cute? Hope you all had a super day!

Darling photos of Darling kids! The boys wore their St. Pat's clothing a day early, but wowed everyone at our church dinner!
