Bump City

Noah had his birthday party today. With his birthday falling the day before Spring Break, we decided to push it back. It took me quite a while to convince him that this would be okay but in the end, it worked out very well, and he got a lot pf practice on his birthday when he would tell people, "My real birthday is March 10th, but I am having my party on Saturday, March 26." When we asked him about his intentions for his birthday, he listed 4 boys he wanted to have over "to open presents". When pushed a little bit, he conceded that they could also have cake. Daddy and I were of the joint mind that we did not want a house full of kindergarten boys, so we offered up a local gym, Bump City. He was all over it. The party included 10 children. He made his list and went on his way. Benjamin - who can't read, mind you - looked down through the list and realized a name was missing so he added it to the end.
(I find it a little funny that he can spell "Noah" and "Abby" but he does not have a clue what what comes after "B" in his own name. He would, however, really like it to be "B-O-M-Q".) Oh, and this was the first time we had seen him print letters, too. But back to the party...
So we loaded up the car after lunch and headed out IN THE SNOW to the gym. It was a busy, busy place today but the kids all had a blast.
We followed up pay time with cake (or in Noah's case, chocolate chip cookies) and green milk.
No complaints AND no messy frosting. Perfect choice, son. I got him to open gifts while everyone was seated.
And daddy remembered to get a group shot.
We did discover the hard way that a "Boys only" party should not be held in a tiny cement-walled room. Holy noise level!!!!! Here's a little of what it sounded like.
I do believe our birthday boy had a great time, though, and that is what it is all about.

Great job with photos, Stephanie. Was almost like us being there...minus the noisey part! Looks like all had a great time.
