A Rose is a Rose...

One of the boys' favorite things to do while Grandpa is here is to sit in his room and play video games on his computer. (I am ashamed to admit that I have not yet taken a picture of this. Shame on me.) Benjamin's piggy bank happens to be in the guest room and while he knows he is not to be playing with the money inside, he apparently forgot to tell Grandpa. He conned Grandpa in to helping him get out some money which he squirreled away in to his pocket. He came down and told daddy that he needed to go to the grocery store. Just so happens, Grandma and I were on our way there so he went with us. We got in the store and he went right to the floral department. Turns out he had robbed his piggy bank to buy a flower for his mama. Auuhhhh..... I tried talking him in to a nice carnation (for $1) but he would have none of it. A rose it was going to be. So he headed up to the check out with his $3.50 rose and his very own $0.61. Lucky for him, Grandma was there to make up the difference. And lucky for me, I have had this beautiful flower on my kitchen counter all week.
Not sure where the boy got the idea but I hope it comes back in the future!

How could Grandpa refuse to help get Benjamin's $$ out...not only was it for something very special, but Benjamin said he paid Grandpa a $300 tip!!!

Awww! That is just so sweet!

Sounds like Ella's basket she picked up at the Dollar Spot - she told me it was $100! :-)
