These are my favorite things the kids are doing right now.
Abby - when given something he really likes, such as mac-n-cheese, milk, fruit, or her blankie, she has taken to saying, "I Wuv it, I wuv it, I wuv it." She also spends a great deal of her day singning the ABC's. To her this is a never-ending song as when she gets to the end it sounds like this, "Now I know my A-B-C-D-E-F-G...." and off she goes again. I love it.
Benjamin - is just seeming so grown up these days. Which is probably why I cherish things like this even more.
Part of me hopes the lisp never goes away. I love it.
Noah - We have been doing these homework sheets once a week since school started. He brings it home on Wednesday. We started off by looking for our own pictures in the newspaper but decided it was easier to just use the pictures the teacher sends home. He has to label each picture. At first, I would have to write the words myself very lightly for him to trace because he couldn't write on blank paper and make letters small enough to fit on a single page. Eventually, he learned to do it so I would just write the words on a separate piece of paper and he would choose the right one and write it in the correct place. This past week, I stepped away from the table for a minute and when I returned he had the biggest smile on his face. He had done all the words by himself. He was so proud of himself for sounding the words out and not needing to ask for help.
How cute is that? (Unfortunately, I didn't notice until just now that all the writing did not scan in. Bummer. Watermelon read, "Wotrmelin". The picture below it was a "washr".) I didn't have the heart to try to correct him. Unfortunately, he now thinks he is a pro and will not take any suggestions. So, he did today's with "vacyoom". Pretty sure his teacher is not going to think this is as cote as I do. Oh well. I love it.

Grandma was soooo happy and surprised to hear Abby sing the ABC's the other day. Benjamin's smile surpasses any speach problems, and we're sure he'll get it "fixed" OK..after all, he's been talking since birth! How impressive that Noah can sound out words and spell them the way he hears them. It doesn't seem that long ago that he didn't like anything to do with writing! They are all growing up, aren't they?
