Or maybe it just feels that way... Is it really just the first of February? Noah asks if it still snows in February and grumbles every time I say yes. (Who is he related to?) Thanks to our vacation, we had lots of homework options to work on today, but when we tired of that, we had to find something else to do. We decided to build a fort. Okay, so I decided to build a fort.
The excitement lasted about as long as it took us to build it. Then they decided the bathtub would be more fun.
And, AND, for the very first time I heard my oldest son say, "I'm bored." Now I have heard plenty of "this is boring" but never a flat-out "I'm bored". But, so much for my "fun activity planning skills", hunh? However, when I offered more homework, he quickly found something to do.
The real snow didn't really start until after 2:00. I was doubting as to whether or not they should have really canceled school today but Christopher confirmed that the roads were pretty crummy when he came home from lunch. Wait, "Came home for lunch?" you ask? Yup. He got up and went to work today. Some people....
After dinner, though, he did bundle up the boys and head outside.
They were out there a looong time - almost 2 hours! We thought they'd enjoy tromping through that much snow
AND they got to build the igloo they have been dreaming of.
(You think we'll get to sleep in until 8:30 again tomorrow?) Official snow measurements as of 10:22PM - 8 to 14 inches throughout the backyard.
And, as luck would have it, they canceled school for tomorrow already at 3:00 this afternoon. As with a high of "0" on Thursday, I'm not hopeful that it is over yet. Have I mentioned before how much I like winter???

Wow! What a tent...even covered the steps?!?! Love the igloo. Great job, guys!
Totally COOL igloo! That should last them for hours of play time.
No snow in Vegas. Although our high is 36 today. Still sunny, though.
Back to 65 by Friday....
I have not seen an igloo like that since I was a kid! Way to go! Ian would be soooo jealous.
