His Legacy
When I was little I had really long hair. I am not sure where, when, or how it started but at some point my dad had this little "skit" he would do with my hair. By positioning one of my ponytails in a different location on my face, I could take on different characters in "the skit". It sounds a little silly but it is something I have never forgotten and "the skit" would come to mind when I would hear one of the phrases mentioned in real life. Well, when Benjamin was learning to talk, Grandpa decided it was time for him to learn it as well. We were sitting at a restaurant and as Benjamin didn't have long ponytails, they made use of a straw. By the end of the meal, he had it down pat. Noah then picked up on it and this past summer Abby joined in the fun. Now, when they talk to Grandpa someone usually brings it up. If they don't always remember him for dressing like a clown and marching in parades, I'd say this will likely be his legacy. Please note, this is NOT Abby's best performance - she can do it mostly by herself - but she absolutely refused to perform for the camera. If I ever catch it, I'll update. And for the record, it is supposed to be "Time to pay the RENT". The boys have always said "remp" and Abby actually says "rump". It is just too cute to correct.

How cute! Since it's been done in our family for years...I'm so surprised at the small number of others who know this little skit. Grandpa must have been in the right place at the right time when it was done years ago!
