A Visit with Grandpa
We wanted to go visit Grandpa Bernard one day and our rainy Tuesday seemed like the perfect time for the trip. The boys love going to his house because they always get to go for a walk along the river behind his house. Grandpa taught the boys all about throwing rocks in the river. They love to do that, but they also just love collecting rocks. Grandpa made the suggestion that they carry the rocks in their pockets. Unfortunately, no one checked to make sure they emptied their pockets on the walk so they returned with pockets full of rocks and emptied them on his coffee table. (At last report Grandma Bonnie said the pile of rocks was still there weeks later.) Grandpa mentioned several times that he was happy we had come to visit and I know we were all happy to see him.
On our way home from Grandma's funeral earlier in the month we passed several farmer's markets with beautiful hanging baskets. They were always one of her favorites so we decided we wanted to buy one for her gravesite when we came back. We were able to do that too and it really spruced the place up.
It was a nice way to spend our rainy day.

Grandma Dorothy would be so pleased that her Stephanie thought to buy her flowers! Can't you just see her smiling???? I can.
