Ludington is a very special place for our family. It holds some of my fondest memories from growing up (even though it is not very close to my hometown). Christopher proposed to me on this very beach (7/4/02). And it is the one thing I miss most (ASIDE FROM MY FAMILY, OF COURSE) about living in Kansas. I am embarassed to say that this was Benjamin's first visit to Ludington. (Even Abby got to go last summer.) Luckily, he did not spend a lot of time complaining about the fact that he was the only one who had never been there (as his grandma thought he might) and we were all able to enjoy our time playing. When I was little, we could spend days in the town but if I had not been to the little city park on the beach, we had not been to 'Ludington'. And while I can't remember any specific thoughts on it, I am sure I spent a great deal of time thinking about what it would be like to play there someday with my own family. I'm also pretty sure I couldn't have imagined it would have been this fun. The boys had an absolute blast running 'barefoot in the sand'.

They loved the dunes - climbing and jumping and hiding behind the grass. And they loved playing on all the toys. Gone are the tall climbing towers with bells to ring when you reached the top and the super tall, rusty metal slides but the teeter-totters and rocking things are still there as well as the merry-go-round.
Noah used the crawling thingy for a game of tag cage match.
And once you are done playing in the sand, you can just head over to the water. If it weren't 60 degrees, you might go swimming. But walking along the water's edge and building sand castles is always good no matter the weather.
