Noah's First Day of School
Well, he did it. He actually went to school. Nobody was a blubbering mess (not even mom or dad), there was no emergency call during the day, and he was just as chipper as could be when we picked him up. It started off kind of ugly because he thought we would rather stay home and watch Dumbo, but when he was reminded that he got to use his new backpack and lunch bag AND mom told him he could take his Mickey Mouse nite-nite, he changed his tune.

He was quite the trooper as we got to the church.
We walked in to the class and found the cubby with his picture so we knew where to put his bags. (Even the nite-nite went in - although we do not know how long it stayed there.) He was busily playing in the corner when we exited. All seemed to be going well. Mommy convinced daddy that they need a lunch out to celebrate the big day, then we were back to the school to pick him up. He was sitting in the hall waiting for us with Miss Sue when we arrived. He told her good-bye and even said he'd be back next week. She said he shed a few tears the first 10 minutes or so but the rest of the day went just beautifully. (Of course, she also said he was 'worn out as an old boot' and that there would be no trouble with nap today. But he has been up there almost an hour and I can assure you there is no sleeping going on, so maybe she can't be trusted 100%.) On our way out of the building, he stopped long enough to tell the welcome desk lady that he'd been to the Mackinac Bridge then he was out the door to run and run. Daddy got up extra early so he could come home and take Noah to school this morning and wanted to be there when I picked him up also. My children are so lucky to have a dad who cares so much about their activities and wants to be involved with everything that they do. And how proud are we of Noah? So big to go to school and get along so well. Not that we had any doubts, really. Maybe there was just a small part of us that hoped he would at least SAY he wanted to be home with mommy and daddy. Way to go, Noah! Hope you have a great year!

Oh,where did our "little" Noah go? He looks soooooo grown up and at least kindergarten age in his big boy clothes and his backpack, etc. We are so proud of how he handled his "1st Day of School." Good job, Noah Douglas Campbell! We love you.
