My day with Thomas

This weekend, I got to do something every little boy wants to do - I got to meet Thomas the Tank Engine. Oh, boy it was exciting! Mommy told me on Friday where we were going and I could hardly wait. In fact, I spent a good deal of my time on Friday standing by the door asking if it was time yet. But mommy kept saying, "Not yet. We're going tomorrow." As if I knew what 'tomorrow' meant. Finally she said I had to have a bath, go to bed, have breakfast and THEN we could go. (I tried to get her to give me my yogurt early but she didn't fall for it.) But I survived and Saturday finally arrived. We went to the train station extra early because there were lots of other activities for me. I spent a lot of time in the sandbox. They had trains and Thomas buckets that I could put sand in and dump out. I love sand. They also had bubbles. It was fun to run with the other kids but it was kind of windy and the bubbles moved way too fast. There was also an Imagination Station that had 4 or 5 Thomas train sets set up for us to play with. I did a very good job of sharing with the other kids and I did not scream when it was time to go somewhere else. (Not all the kids were as well behaved as I.) Mommy and daddy thought it was funny that I spent so much time playing trains because I have one at home and don't pay it much attention these days. I was so good I even ate most of my lunch. (That is pretty uncommon when I am not at home.) Then came the big event of the day. I actually got to ride on Thomas! Unfortunately, my mommy wanted me to have my picture taken with Sir Topham Hatt first. I used all the words I knew to discourage this but no one listened. So I showed my displeasure to the camera. (Remember my Santa experiences?? Someday they are going to learn...) My distress carried over to the train ride because there was some fool dressed up like a clown who kept trying to talk to me. I think my mom would have beat him up for me but I was glued to her chest with my face hid in her shoulder so she didn't really have the chance. (Most of this was just an act so I could cuddle with my mom. I think she was quite enjoying holding me.) And as if that were not bad enough, he got on the train with us! Our ride lasted about 30 minutes and I was upset for the first half, however, the ride made it all better. I loved looking out the 'winnow' at the trees and flowers. I also got to see some trucks and tractors. How can that not cheer a boy up?!!?! My little brother Benjim was quite the trooper. He is too little to know how scary clowns are and I was too busy too tell him, so he just enjoyed himself the whole time. After the train ride, we headed back home. Benjim and I recounted the day and laughed and laughed instead of napping in the car as mommy and daddy had hoped. I still had to have nap time when we got home, though. (I think it was because mommy and daddy were tired, but don't tell them I told you...) I decided since I was in there, I might as well catch a little shuteye myself. Mommy came about 6:00PM to wake me up but I played a little trick on her. She expected to find me on the bed but I was not there. In fact, she couldn't find me anywhere. She looked and looked and finally saw my little bunners sticking up behind the book box in front of the window. She ran to get the camera but I heard her coming and woke up. She'll have to get up pretty early in the morning to get any embarrassing pictures of me! So, that, in a nutshell, was my day with Thomas. Oh, and I also got a tattoo so I could always remember our day together. Thanks, Thomas! Let's do it again real soon!
