4 years down, 100 to go!

Yesterday was our 4th wedding anniversary. We have both talked about how funny that seems. We have stuffed so much in to our time together that it feels like it has been much longer. (Including the time someone drug his feet, we have been together almost 7 years, if that makes it any better. Still makes the grandparents' 73 years unfathomable!) I was first surprised by this beautiful bouquet. Then, we were able to get our children watched for the evening and Christopher surprised me with a trip to our amusement park Worlds of Fun. He thought we deserved to act like kids ourselves for awhile and I have to say I agree. I was really surprised by his choice of activities but it turned out to be a really fun night. We had burgers and fries for dinner and then got to ride the rides. The ones up towards the entrance were a little rickety but as we moved further back they got better. We did the train ride, bumper cars, and the Flying Dutchman, as well as the big rides. The good news is, being only a fraction of the size of Cedar Point, we were able to get it all in in one evening. Of course, being 2 of the 20 people there helped with that. Well, maybe there were more people that than but there was no line at any ride. We arrived home to find our sons fast asleep so we could enjoy our new outdoor seating area. (They will someday be surrounded by a lovely garden. If you could see the picture in our minds, you would be very impressed.) We ended the evening with the annual reading of our letters. As one of our wedding presents to one another, we wrote letters. We first read them on our wedding night and we pull them out each year to read them again. A year is just long enough to forget exactly what it will say so it seems new again. It is truly the best part of our celebration each year. This next year will be our truest test yet. For the first time in our married lives, we will have to wait 366 days to celebrate again. I hope we can make it.

Those chairs are amazing. I love them. Dorothy and the Royals would be envious.

Happy Anniversary!
