The Great Book Jump

Last Saturday night daddy and I had a date night. As Grandpa and Grandma were preparing to leave she said, "Now, don't be alarmed by Benjamin's face when he gets up in the morning. His lip might be a little swollen." Turns out he had a little accident as he was getting in to bed. Noah was laying on the floor reading a book - standing it up on its end. In true four-year-old fashion, rather than take the safe route around the book reading, Benj took the shortest route - straight over - with a running leap. Unfortunately, he didn't quite clear the book. His toes got hooked and he did a face plant. Into the hardwood floor. Right on to his bottom lip. Exhibit A. Surprisingly, he didn't complain about any discomfort, but it sure wasn't pretty! And, as you may have suspected, no lesson was learned - the boy still leaps off of, and over, everything he can. Guess we should start keeping score: Benjamin - 0 - Immovable Object - 1.
