April 1st has come and gone which means THE FARMSTEAD IS NOW OPEN. WOO-HOO! As luck would have it, Noah had opening day off so we took Claire and headed out after lunch. It was a perfect day and we were able to take in everything. The cows.
Abby even tried her hands at milking.
Baby goats.
"Auuhhhh..." The tractors.
Abby's favorite - feeding the fish.
The boys dump all their food in at once. Abby drives them crazy by throwing out just one piece at a time. (Don't take her there if you are in a hurry!) Mommy makes her sit in the stroller for this because the girl has no fear water and I could easily see her jumping right in. The sandbox - another place my children could spend the entire day.
And who doesn't love the playground?
This picture is significant for a couple of reasons. Not only is Abby big enough to climb like this, but her mommy is big enough to LET her climb like this. And even be far enough away to take a picture of her doing it! It is kind of a strange feeling to be out and about with three "big" kids. We probably could have gotten along without a stroller (save the fish feeding) and that is just weird to me. Snack time at the shack.
We got to the bigger goats and Claire was a little apprehensive. Noah to the rescue.
She eventually warmed up and the boys showed her how to pet them.
It was a perfect day.
Our weather has been great and we have already been there three times already. Abby is following in her big brothers' footsteps and LOVES the place. Every time we get in the car she asks if we are going there. I am hoping that we have a pleasant farm season so we can take full advantage of this local gem.
