A-hunting We Did Go

The day after Thanksgiving found us out at yet another Christmas tree farm. This time it was Bierman's and, again, we feel like this one is a keeper. They had a nice big field for us to walk through and a lot more trees growing for future years. Again my only complaints were that the trees were all too perfectly shaped AND they were not grown in Michigan. Having the kiddie train parked right next to the check-out house was not a good idea, though. Noah decided every single tree we passed was "the perfect one". And I do mean every tree. Here is Benjamin examining one we vetoed. "Can we cut this one, dad? Let's go ride the train!" He didn't have a lot of patience for the search. Benjamin and Abby were game, though. We eventually found just what we were looking for and daddy had some help cutting it down. The farm help came and carried the tree back to the house for us so we didn't have to drag it this year. THEN they got to ride the train. They also had yummy cookies and hot chocolate. I do love Christmas tree day! We got the tree home and put it right up. It's a little crooked but, boy, is it pretty! Daddy had a new helper with the lights this year and I was happy to pass the job on. The tree is holding its needles well, too, which is nice for all the little feet that scurry past it. It took us a couple of weeks to get the actual ornaments on it but we got it done. Now we sit back and enjoy...
