Trick-or-Treating Success
Well, we were almost tricked our first family trick-or-treating, but we were victorious in the end. I hurried daddy home from work so we could eat and get out the door before too late. By 5:30 everyone was dressed, candy bags in hand, we stepped in to the street and realized we were the only people out there. And I don't just mean the only people looking for goodies. We were the only people out there. Period. We decided because of the change in Daylight Savings, the big event had been pushed back and we just didn't get the memo. The problem with it not yet dark out when you want to go trick-or-treating is that you cannot tell who has their light on and who does not. And since every door was closed, it could have been a quick evening of fun. So, we decided instead to hope in the car and hit up the grandparents.
Noah's practicing was just enough and he did perfect running to the door with a big, "Ummm. Trick-or-treat!" (Video to come when I figure out how to edit it.) He was rewarded with several bags of M&M's. Do his grandparents know him, or what? Next we went to our friends George and Edie's where both boys got special goody bags. We stayed and played with all of their fun toys for awhile then it was finally dark so we headed back home. Our next door neighbors were just heading out so we jumped on their tails.

Unfortunately, the two 6-yr-olds leading the group were a little too fast for Noah so he got hurried a lot. He didn't seem to mind, though. He just chattered away about his 'candy corns' and asked daddy continually if he could have just one piece.
And Benjamin got to have a snack too - dried fruit. Mmmm.
We managed to get him home and in bed without a big fight - and he only ate one piece of candy. Funny thing is, now that Halloween is over, Noah hasn't even asked about his spoils. The spider bag is hiding in mom's closet and he hasn't asked about it once. Guess that just means more for mom and dad!

OMG, that face! Benjamin is telling you that it's just not fair that all he got was dried fruit! Just not fair.
Give that boy a chocolate bar to suck on.
6 weeks and counting and we can have all he wants. :)
But look at that face. It makes me giggle. And his little hand ... it looks like he's slamming it down and saying, "But Mommmmmmmmmmmm!" LOL
