Benjamin has become quite the eater. He takes anything and everything that we give him and just shovels it right in. He also gets quite irate when it takes any amount of time for his food to be delivered. One of his favorites is Chunky soup (Campbell's, of course). We just spoon out the veggies and meat and put it on his tray. He has tried several flavors including Split Pea and Ham and he managed to get mommy just as covered in 'gunk' as he was. Mommy and daddy are trying to devise some sort of ride-thru highchair wash that he can go through after eating to clean him and his chair. Boy, can that kid make a mess! (It is quite a change from his big brother who never got a lick of food on him anywhere!) He also has loooooong meal times. His lunches usually last about an hour and a half - eating the whole time.
In developmental news, he has become quite good at pointing and saying what we like to pretend sounds like "Wuzzz'at?" His favorite objects are lights and kitties. Oh boy, does he like kitties. Especially the real ones that purr and squeak when you pull their tails. He has even managed to memorize which books have kitties on the pages so he can pick those out to look at. We think we have heard him try to say kitty a few times, but it is not that clear yet. He has also learned to wave and loves to watch for daddy in the window so he can wave. He knows when to use it as he will wave to Grandma over the phone when she says hi to him and he also waves to the people we meet on our walks on the sidewalk. Mommy thinks he is also working on 'Hi'.
Maybe most importantly, he has finally learned to sleep through the night. See, we were spoiled when he was first born because he came home from the hospital sleeping in 5 hour stretches. Unfortunately, those never really seemed to grow very much. But this past week he has slept from 8:30PM - 7:00AM 4 nights in a row. Just in time to go on vacation. Hopefully it doesn't take us another 11 months to get him straightened back out when we get home.
As you can see, it has been quite a big month. And from the looks of it, he does not appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

I can't believe he's going to be a year already. I STILL have his baby announcement on my fridge.
