Ernie Biggs
Someone in Kansas City has been listening to my pleas - a piano bar opened in good ol' KC with my big brother is one of the rotating players and he was here this past weekend. Christopher and I were able to get the grandparents to watch the kids so we could go for his first night at Ernie Biggs. Things were a little behind schedule and instead of opening at 8:00PM, it was closer to 10:00. (But, really, that is a miracle considering that when we showed up at 8 none of the alcohol had been put away and they were still installing toilets in the restrooms...) Joel played second shift which meant he did not start until 11:00. Christopher and I were on our way to becoming pumpkins so we did not get to stay to hear his entire set. Hopefully, we will have many more opportunities to go and hear him. The owner asked me what I thought of seeing my rock star brother up there playing. I told him I could not be happier for him. I truly think this is what he was meant to do and I am so happy that there is finally one in Kansas City so I can watch him on occasion. We all win! So why am I telling you about this today, you might ask? Cause today is my brother's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, UNCLE JOEL!!!

He moved to Nashville in February. He just hasn't been there for more than one week at a time since then.
