Went to Independence on a Sunday...
This past week, daddy had his first business trip since Noah was born. He went to St. Louis for 3 days so mommy and the boys went to Independence, Kansas to visit Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Scott. We had heard so much about the place, we just had to get down there to check it out. It didn't take us long. (hehe...) And we now have a better understanding as to why they are always so quick to come up here when the option arises. But, we did have a very nice visit. (However, I am hereby DONE riding in the car with my sons. Next time I am walking.) The furnished house they are renting came with a room made just for Noah. The 6 year old happened to have all of Noah's favorite toys. I thought he may be a little apprehensive about waking up in a strange place but I was way wrong. He never called for me to come and get him and when I finally went in he had 6 giant trucks and tractors on his bed and he had found about 100 match box cars. He also found lots of little rubber bugs AND an electric drum machine and 2, count them - 2- guitars. Needless to say, we never did get out any of the toys we took with us. He had a blast. And Grandma had a blanket for Benjamin to roll around on, so life was good. Independence did offer a little park complete with a free zoo and giant play land. Noah had a great time running around and checking everything out. There were only about 10 animals (including ducks and geese) but he didn't mind. He did keep looking for the otters which they did not have, and he was a little disappointed by that, but he enjoyed what he did get to see. Here are some of his pictures. I think my favorite is the horse. Noah is learning to give hugs and he practices all the time. He is also learning how to pose for pictures. He would get someplace and motion for me to take his picture. Unfortunately, he doesn't yet understand that it takes a second to get the camera out and turned on. So there are our best attempts. Thanks for having us for a visit Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Scott!

Those are the best trips. Time together with loveable animals:) I love those times with Hunter and Colin. And can't wait for them with my little ones.
