We decided to be a little more intentional about acknowledging all that we have to be thankful for. I picked up some pre-cut leaves and every night at dinner we would each list something we were thankful for.
Everyone had a good time with this.
We had a wide range of items from family and friends to Rio Angry Birds and the Atlanta Falcons. One of my favorites can be seen here: God, Jesus, and footdall. 
I punched each one with a hole punch and ran a piece of yarn through it. Now they are hanging as a garland on our tree. Each year I hope to add to it.
