Happy Birthday, Bumbarita!

Our littlest son turned 5 today. Oh, how does this happen? Isn't this the same boy that looked like this just yesterday?
I have tried convincing him pretty much all year that he should stay 4, but he would have nothing to do with it. There are so many things about him that remain the same. He has the biggest smile AND the biggest cry. This kid can start (and stop) crocodile tears faster than anyone I have ever seen.He still loves to eat and will try anything that we offer him. (And can I just mention how nice it is to have ONE child who comes to the table happily each evening and doesn't think that I am trying to kill him every time I cook something that is not hot dogs?)
He still LOVES to read. He quite often falls asleep with a pile of books on his bed and one cracked across his chest. He still makes a fashion statement each and every day.
(And I am pleased to announce that he has finally outgrown his 2T pants - well, in length anyway.)
He still doesn't stop talking long enough for even a picture. He still loves his sister. He still loves horse-ing around with his brother.

And he still fits perfectly in his mama's snuggles. (Although, I would be willing to part with his middle of the night visits...)

In fact, that is why I have tried to convince him that he needs to stop growing. I don't want to see the day when he doesn't fit perfectly on my lap and I can carry him wherever he wants to go. But, that day is coming. And since we can't stop it, we are going to do our best to enjoy every day along the way.
Happy birthday, Benjamin! We love you!
