All week we have been getting information regarding Martin Luther King. He never really unloads all his info at once, we just get little snippets here and there when something comes to him. One day as we were driving home from school, Noah asked me if I would help him win the Nobel Peace Prize. "You win a medal AND $100. I wouldn't keep it for myself, I would share it with all of you." (And, see? Now it is in print so I can remind him of that when it happens. Although, maybe I will hold him to only sharing $100.)kuggbgytrtsyyykbvf
Last night as we were getting ready for bed, Christopher made mention of work in the morning. Noah stopped dead in his tracks and looked at him. "What do you mean you have to work tomorrow? Does your work hate Martin Luther King, or something?" He tried explaining that not everyone gets the day off but Noah would have none of it. So, daddy took the afternoon off. We tried to find something relevant to do together but we didn't find anything age appropriate for our clan. Instead we did some word searches and colored some pictures related to the day. Then we headed to Crown Center. To Kaleidoscope, to be exact. I had gone there with Noah on a field trip last year and was amazed at how fun it was. He was very willing to show the place off to Benjamin and Abby. Noah's favorite was the glow-in-the-dark room. You can color on the walls with glow[light] sticks or project your own picture, which is what he preferred.
Can you spot Abby in the middle of the giant kaleidoscope?
Abby's interests were pretty fleeting. She would run from here to there coloring on this and that. Then she was off to the next thing.
Benjamin was a little more dedicated. He only got through half the room, but he colored his little heart out. Here he is making his own puzzle. First you color,
then you run it through the puzzle-making machine.
Benjamin's turn on the wall. Can you spot him?
We made our way across the street to wander a bit, but decided instead to just have a snack. A pink princess cookie for one
And ice skate cookies for two:

We felt a little bad that we hadn't come up with something better to actually celebrate the holiday, but Noah let us know, he didn't forget what it was all about.

I just love how Noah understands the political/historical events he studies in school....and, like Uncle Scott...questions when NOT EVERYONE PAYS ATTENTION TO THEM! Good job, Noah. Love that little boy with his tooth missing. Love little Benjamin with his missing tooth too! They are so cute when they smile that way! Naturally love Abby with all her teeth showing in a smile woo!
