12:00PM - Personalized clipboards finished and stocked - ready for our second official family road trip.
5:54PM - Overland Park. It's 98°. The van is loaded and we are out of here! Mt. Rushmore, here we come!
5:55PM - First stop. Dinner at Chick-fil-A. (Mom had to go buy ketchup and mustard and thought maybe the rest of us could use an extra few minutes on the play area...) Still Overland Park. Still 98°.
6:51PM - And we're off! For real, this time. Yup, still 98°.
7:15PM - Benjamin is out.
9:06PM - Rockport, MO. Lots of high water.
We are taking a detour because I-29N is closed. Noah counted 49 windmill generators on the MO/IA border. (We suspect he may have been off by about 50... These things are enormous! And mommy feels like she is driving in an alien country.)
10:00PM - Somewhere in IA. The detour ran into a road closed sign just a few miles from the interstate. We are not going to test it as it is REALLY dark out in these cornfields. Some nice high school boys gave us some new directions so we are under way again. Noah is out. Benjamin woke up. Abby hasn't slowed down a bit.
11:30PM - Council Bluffs, IA. Hotel greeter is the cutest little baby skunk you have ever seen.
(Of course we threatened the boys to stay away from her on our way in the door.) Good night!

Could you smell anything when you saw the skunk? They say "What goes around, comes around"...so Abby staying awake to keep everyone company while travelling is following in her Mommy's footsteps as a child traveler!!
