The Great Snow of '09
We almost made it through the entire winter without a true snowstorm. Can you beleive it? While mommy would have not complained a bit, it would have been disappointing for the boys. Poor Benj got new boots for his birthday and hasn't had chance one to wear them.
But that all changed on Saturday. We woke up to four inches of the fluffy, white stuff blanketing us. The boys could barely get through breakfast fast enough to get outside. We bundled up and bundled up some more and headed outside.
It was a balmy 25 degrees, afterall. (Poor Abby had to nap and didn't get to join in the fun.) The boys tried their hand at sledding our massive hill.
Noah enjoyed this while Benjamin prefered dragging daddy's shovel through the snow. What he did NOT like was tripping and falling face-first into the cold wetness.
He's tough and all but a boy's got to have his limits. Daddy got out the sand toys and the boys had fun making "sand castles with snow" as Noah called them. Actually, daddy made towers and the boys kicked them over.
Noah started to complain about being cold and "getting all red" and wanted to go inside for hot chocolate. We warmed up with a rousing game of Candyland while daddy and Benjamin shoveled the driveway. And now that we have had a chance to play in the stuff, how's about getting rid of it and bringing back more of the 70 degree winter days. Just what the mama ordered...

Leave it to that smart Noah to KNOW when he should go inside to get warmed up!!! Benjamin doesn't look to upset with the face full of snow!
